Searobin Open Water Diver course take only three days to complete for a lifetime certification which allows you to dive anywhere in the world with a certified buddy.
Your underwater adventures can begin as soon as you want with the PADI Open Water Diver manual and DVD, PADI Open Water manual Online Version or by signing up for the eLearning program. You can learn the background information you need at your own pace and then come to Koh Samui to complete the course.
PADI Open Water Diver Course Computer version
Technology has brought about dramatic improvements in the tools we use in everyday life. We have seen a similar evolution in the dive industry. For this reason a new training option for the PADI Open Water Diver course has been developed. Searobin recommends completing your Open Water course using dive computers instead of the traditional Recreational Dive Planner.
Searobin is currently the only dive centre on Koh Samui offering the Dive computer option for the PADI Open Water Course in addition to the traditional Dive tables. You will be diving with a Dive computer during your Open Water course.
Dive computers allow you to dive conveniently and efficiently. Experience shows that the great majority of divers will use a Dive computer instead of tables.
Searobin will get you familiarized how to use dive computers which is a skill that will prove itself very useful during your entire dive career.

The fun part about this course is . . . well, just about all of it because learning to dive is incredible. You breathe underwater for the first time (something you'll never forget) and learn what you need to know to become a certified diver. You will be going into the ocean space and its most likely the closest that you will get to outer space!
During the course, you’ll make at least five pool dives in our 36 meter salt water chlorine free pool followed by four open water dives at prime location around Ko Samui.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge Development (online, home study or in a classroom ) to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
- Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!
Our dive school's PADI Open Water Diver course lasts only three days for a group size of maximum of 4 people. In order to complete all the class room material and the confined water exercises in one day we have to limit the group size to 4 divers. However, if you prefer we can assign private instructor just for you.
PADI programs are performance based. You proceed as you demonstrate mastery of the scuba skills taught in the course. Small group sizes in Koh Samui ensure that you get personal attention from our dive school's PADI professionals.
Small group size allows you to work at a pace that is comfortable for you, relaxed and stress-free. On the open water dives days, we use surface interval and boat journey time, from Koh Samui to the dive site and back, to review PADI Open Water course material and prepare for the open water dives.
Manual or Multimedia?
Searobin Dive Center is the only diving school in Koh Samui to provide their students the choice of their own way to complete the required theory part. We offer a variety of PADI study materials for the Open Water Diver course such as the classic Open Water Diver Manual and DVD video, and now the new Multimedia version (book and video in one) to use with your computer when and where ever you would like to: at home, on travel or even on the beach. There is no extra cost for this fascination and revolutionary way of learning.

Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
You are not require to get medical clearance to take the Open Water Diver course. However, please take a look at the PADI medical statement and should you answer yes to any of the questions, please consult a physician before signing up for the course.
In accordance to PADI Flying After Diving guidelines you
should not fly within 18 hours after your last dive. |
